The Great Minnesota Gathering

...at that is was! Today we took Owen to his first ever Minnesota State Fair adventure. The car ride over was slightly stressful, as it took us almost two hours to get from our house in Shakopee, to finally finding a parking spot in Saint Paul. We learned a lot of "what not to dos", and next year we know it will not take us nearly as long. Besides that, the fair was awesome! We ate great fair food, went to the Birthing Center to see all the baby farm animals, went on some rides, and ate more great food! Owen seemed to be in awe of everything. As we passed by different animals, games, and rides he would point at them and shout with excitement. He was able to ride a couple rides all by himself. He also went on a few rides with Rob. Unfortunatley, I remained the photographer as my belly was not going to fit into any of the kiddy rides :)

On another note, I had my 38 week appointment this past Tuesday, and everything went well. The doctor said that as long as I continue to progress and the baby drops a little bit by my next appoinment (which is Monday) he will try to work his magic and give the baby a little nudge. It is hard to believe that I will be 39 weeks on Monday, and soon we will be adding a beautiful new addition to our family! We thought that maybe all of the walking today at the fair might help move Baby Boy along, but he apparently isn't quite ready. Hopefully I will have some news for you all after my appointment on Monday (if not sooner).

Here are a few pictures from the fair today:

36 weeks and other fun stuff

Today I had my 36 week appointment (the start of the countdown) and everything went well. Nothing all that exciting to share, other than the baby is positioned head down which is good news. I can't believe how quickly the summer is going by, and how quickly my due date is approaching. The little bambino will be here in no time! I also had a prenatal massage this evening (thanks to my wonderful husband) and that was AWESOME! It was so relaxing...I wish I could do one every week :) What a great way to start my week!

This past weekend was Derby Days in Shakopee. As hot as it was, we decided to venture out and take Owen over for a couple hours in the afternoon. They had a Family Fun Park where they had some bouncy toys, horse rides, and a small area where you could pet some animals. He really had a lot of fun and was especially interested in riding the horse. Here are some pictures from our weekend:

Owen loved petting the turtle.

Here he is on the horse...he thought he was quite the big boy sitting up there :)

Owen in one of the bouncy toys. He loved just being able to run around.
