Happy Birthday Owen Robert!

I can hardly believe that Rob and I have a 2 year old! It has been a very busy week full of celebrating Owen's big day! On his actual birthday, we made his favorite meal (macaroni and cheese with hotdogs), sang Happy Birthday, and ate cupcakes. He didn't understand that it was his birthday necessarily, but he did now that it was a special day and he acted very proud all day. It was a nice quiet evening. We also had a party for him on Saturday with family in the area. It was a lot of fun to have everyone (any excuse for a party). It started out a little rough for Owen, as he woke up early from his nap and was very sad. Then, he wanted to open all the presents that he saw in the basement, and didn't understand why he couldn't (which resulted in a meltdown). However, once we had a little talk, he ate a little snack, and a some kids came over for him to play with, Owen had a great evening! We were so blessed to have so much family here to celebrate with us...Owen is one spoiled little boy :) I'm not going to lie, I get a little teary eyed when I look back through his pictures of when he was first born...I can't believe that two years have gone by. It's amazing to me how much a can still remember when I look back on the day he was born. I may not be able to remember where I put my keys, to return phone calls, or other's birthdays...but the days that my boys were born I seem to remember like they were yesterday :)

We have the boys' well check visits coming up in the next week, so I will update more about all the exciting things that Owen is up to after his appointment. For now, here are some pictures on his actual birthday (except for the cake).

The 2 year old!He got really good at blowing out candles

I have to say that I am very proud of his cake...this took quite a toll on my kitchen, and a little longer than expected. I teared up a little when I had to cut into Mickey for his birthday party :)

6 Months

Adam at 6 months

Owen at 6 months

Adam has been up to a lot this month. It seems like each day he changes more and more. He continues to roll all over the place, and loves to put anything he can find in his mouth. While on his belly, he is tying really hard to get into a hands/knees position. He always wants to be on the move...watch out world when this little boy figures out crawling. He is very close to figuring out belly crawling, and manages to get himself to toys that are just out of reach. He sits really well independently while he mouth and plays with toys.
He takes four 7 oz bottles or nurses four times a day, and eats three meals a day of baby food. He has had all the basics (carrots, sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, squash, pears, peaches, bananas, and apples) This week we started throwing in some new foods like pear-pinapple, and blueberry. He also started eatting Baby Mum Mums which he LOVES (and we love them too, as it's the only way we can all eat dinner together). He tries to eat the little puffs and yogurt melt, but he needs help getting those to his mouth.
His sleeping is hit or miss. His naps are great....two solid naps, each for about 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours. At night however, he has been waking up several times. It started back when he was sick, and it hasn't stopped. We are hoping that this little phase ends quickly :) He is beginning to learn how to sleep without being swaddled, which could also be contributing to the waking nights.
He is such a happy, social little boy. He always has a smile on his face, and has the greatest belly laugh. He loves watching his big brother run around, and is constantly trying to grab at him :) It has been so fun watching their relationship grow and change.
He are so blessed to have such a happy, healthy little 6 month old. Don't grow up too fast Adam Louis :)

Fun in the Snow

These pictures are a week overdue, but Owen really enjoyed all the snow from the last snow storm that we had! He's come along way from that first time we took him in the snow this year and he cried almost the entire time because he had to wear mittens. Now he would stay outside all day if we let him.

Here's the big snow hill at the end of our driveway. Owen used it as his personal sledding hill that day :)

Pearly Whites

If you look really close you can see his shiny tooth (there is also a second one right next to it that you can barely see)
