Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving with the Kieffer's at Andy and Janelle's new home. We had a wonderful dinner! I am so thankful for a loving husband, two beautiful children, and a very supportive family! I am one very lucky lady!!

Big Boy Bed

I just wanted to take a quick moment to brag about my little man. This is Owen's third night in his toddler bed and so far *knock on wood* it has gone really well. On Friday evening, Rob decided to transform his crib into a bed. Owen loves that he can climb into it all by himself, and has done really good staying in bed during his naps and at night.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for this year, but I will post more on this later (along with new pics of our growing boys). It is late and I am still trying to catch up on sleep from Rob and I's 3:30am Black Friday adventure. Believe it or not, we had a great time...Rob even said he wants to make this a tradition :)

Goodnight all!

Let it snow...

We got our first snowfall of the year this past weekend, and it totaled right around 8 inches! It was the good stuff...perfect for snowballs, snowmen, and sledding. Rob and I thought it would be so much fun to get Owen outside to play in it. Owen seemed really excited about the white stuff on our porch. He stared out the patio window pointing and whining until it was time to go out. So we started out the long process of getting him ready. We got on the snow pants, boots, coat, and hat with no problems. But then came the mittens, and Owen absolutely hated them. He is not one to through temper tantrums (don't get me wrong, he whines but he is typically pretty easy to distract or redirect), but this was most definitely a temper tantrum. When we finally got him to put them on (after a lot of coaxing) he was in such a bad mood that all he did was whine outside. He hated that he couldn't use his fingers. Rob and I's great idea backfired BIG time.

However, I decided to give it one last shot the following day and we actually succeeded in getting him fully dressed with no tantrums AND he had a great time while he was outside. I took both boys for a walk, and then Owen and I played outside for a little while when we got back. He still didn't like that he couldn't pick things up with his mittens on, but the whole experience was a much happier one :)

2 Months

Adam turned two months on Sunday! We had his two month appointment today and he is doing really well. Here are his current stats:

Weight: 12 lb 8 oz = 75th %

Height: 23 3/4 " = 80th %

Head: 15 1/4 " = 25th %

Adam is continuing to eat about every 3 - 31/2 hours during the day. At night he is getting to be much more consistent with a good seven hour stretch. His naps are still pretty inconsistent during the day. His alert times are great and he is becoming so much more interactive. He has a little playmat that he loves to go on during his floor time. He smiles and talks to the toys that are hanging down at him. It has been so fun watching him change and grow in the last couple months.

When looking at their 2 month pictures, they are really starting to look very different to me... Everyday I seem to have a different opinion about how much (or little) I think the boys look alike :)

Happy Halloween

This year we dressed both boys up for Halloween. I was not feeling the best this year, so Adam and I only went trick or treating to the neighbor's house with Rob and Owen so I could get a couple pictures. We then headed back to our warm house, while Rob took Owen around our neighborhood to do some more trick or treating. Rob said that Owen was really shy at every house they went to and would only wave hi and bye to the people passing out candy. However, when he got home he was very excited to dump out all his candy and dive right in to it! I can already tell he's going to have a sweet tooth like his momma :)
